Missions, Values, Strategy

What guides us, what drives us
« Coming from… must not… must no longer prevent… from becoming. »

Our Mission

Le Sel de la Vie is a non-profit association recognised as being of general interest, founded in July 2020 in Marseille. Our mission is to fight against social determinism that prevents young people and vulnerable groups from accessing education, training and employment.

We work at the heart of priority neighbourhoods in Marseille, offering innovative support pathways combining academic excellence, sport, culture, digital skills and psychosocial support.

Our Vision

Nurturing confidence. We believe that every person, regardless of their geographic or social origin, has the potential to succeed.

Our vision is that of a society where birthplace no longer determines life trajectory.

Our Values

Gender Equality

Gender equality is at the heart of our programmes. 60% girls in Excellence Sciences, mothers taking back to the sea.

Inclusion

78% of our beneficiaries come from priority neighbourhoods. Our programmes are free and open to all.

Social Diversity

We create spaces where volunteers, students, health professionals and neighbourhood residents meet. Diversity is our strength.

Solidarity

110 committed volunteers, peer tutoring, daily mutual aid. Every programme is built on collective strength.

Cooperation

Public partners, foundations, universities, hospitals: we build bridges. Erasmus+ accredited (2024-2027), we cooperate at European level.

Our Strategy 2025-2028

Six years of action and measurable results.

Our development is built around four strategic axes:

1. Strengthen academic excellence
Improve oral performance (34.5% currently) and close the PASS/LAS gap. Target: 50% overall success.
2. Develop integration through sport and sea
Scale Les Daronnes and Elles en mer. 85% boat licence success rate, a model to replicate.
3. Internationalise through Erasmus+
Mobility in English, AI, digital tools and green jobs. Turkey, Greece, Ireland, Belgium.
4. Professionalise integration
Social and Health Excellence (Class of 2026), D.A.O (34 beneficiaries), Qualiopi certified training.
